| I was wondering if anyone has seen any Multicam flightsuits around. My SHTF firstline clothing is a nice, grey/OD nomex flightsuit. I like it mainly because it's heat/flash resistant and it wicks well and it's thin enough that if it gets really wet, it should dry off quickly. Obviously in a winter condition, this wouldn't be my first choice. I was hoping that someone had produced some multicam flightsuits out of nomex just because I love the way the multicam looks in it's environment and I love the advantages of a one piece easy on/easy off suit. Thanks for any info. BTW I've looked on google and haven't managed to find anything relevant and figured if anyone has heard anything, it would be you guys! |

Your expriences with a flight suit are completely different than mine. An Army helo pilot for 15 years, I have never thought the flight suit wicks particularly well... I find them to be hot and uncomfortable, especially living in the field. If moisture wicking and temp control is your concern, there are much better material choices out there. I don't have the option to fly in anything else for fire saftey purposes, but will gladly take a two piece flight suit over a one piece any day for fitment and the ease of removing my top or using the latrine when I need to... | My biggest preference for the Nomex comes from its immediate ability of protection. As far as something longterm goes, I'd probably change into some cammies and if I ever make some decent money I'll pick up a really nice Multicam set of pants, jacket and shirt that I've seen. As far as first line E&E goes though, I just think that Nomex would work best for that situation. The way I look at it is Kevlar and Ceramic don't breathe but you wear them for a reason. I'd rather be a little sweatier or stuffier than suffer a flash-burn all over my arms or legs or something terrible like that. |

one advantage of a one piece suit (unitard?) is that there is no shirt to get caught up n your gear. Ever grab a bunch of shirt with your pistol, or have the shirt get sucked into a snaplink durring rappel, or a centipede crawl up it, etc... ebay has some guy selling multicam patterned uniforms in BDU or ACU cut, top and bottoms for $60 shipped. Airsofter knockoffs, but if the pattern is all you're looking for then that's a cheap way to go. |

My opinion after 6 years is the same... There is no wicking with the Nomex material... You get what I like to call SWASS - sweaty ass. I think the Army's two piece Nomex suits look pretty sweet for the reasons Copperhead listed. What situations do you see yourself in that required the protection of Nomex? Spooky |
