Well, last night we had our NVG training for our cadre training.  I decided to bring out my MC uniform to see just how well it might do.  Well, the results were as expected.  I was virtually invisble.  Everyone else was wearing standard issue woodland BDUs, and even moving slow, were easy to spot.  Myself on the otherhand managed to get within optimal distance of attacking the command tower (primary objective).  I decided to get balsy and was going to advance and climb up the stairs and take them all by suprise, but a fellow cadre ran past right in front of me and they called him out.  He then said if they could see me, which after the confusion settled on their part could not.

As this was just a training for the other cadre to get familiar with NVG I was not upset with him giving away my position.  I just got my Eagle Plate carrier w/ cumberbund and am now just waiting on the triple wedge mag holder, and I am set.  Hopefully those do pretty well while I low crawl through thorn bushes and grass.  Man I love this stuff

If I recall, conditions were fair night skies and I think it was 1/4 moon out.

Great write-up Neo.I have a Weesatch in Multicam on the
way from SKD.Should be here Saturday.Monday the latest.
I do think My multicam out-performs my ACU's and knowing that it works
exceptionally well at night is another plus on the Multicam score board.

I heard that the only test the MultiCam failed in the Army tests was that it lost all cammo value when wet.

Really?Interesting.I'd like to see if we could
find any info to verify that.

That should be easy enough to find out unscientifically.  Have someone get their Crye or SKD BDU's wet and take some pics.

Couple things:

Cadre training is for our OPFOR here at the base.  We train them on what to do before they get deployed.  Since this is the AF, the training isn't as intense as it would be in teh Army, Marines, but is a good refamiliarzation of how to operate an M-16 (since we only touch them every 30 months...), base defense, fire team drills, NBC attacks, etc.

As for the uniform being wet, I'll let you guys know here in October when I get to low crawl through the marshes as OPFOR.  Today we did low-crawl, high-crawl, rush & rolls, etc in our BDUs and man did they get trashed.  About the most fun I will get to have now that I am in services

Oddly enough, the ACU is said to be great for night concealment...

They are using what they capture from us....  More so in Afghanistan.
