Why is it that every time you see an Israeli Soldier their Load Bearing Kit is different to the next set?, do they have it personalized to enhance effectivness?,if so is this sanctioned/financed by the IDF?

Unless they are in garrison, training or have an absolutely anal retentive NCO/officer almost all US troops will customize their LBE. Some to a small extent(location of things), others to the point of using absolutely nothing that was issued to them(using private purchase items). It matters on the unit and where they are at the time. I think the IDF is mainly interested in what works and doesn't worry very much about uniformity. Most likely it is just to enhance personal comfort or familiarity of where things are. |
Everyone in the US .mil who is combat arms customizes their equipment to optimum effectiveness in the field. Typically the only thing that might be standard is the location of the first aid bandage. Unless you have jackass leadership. I'm sure the IDF is the same way, esp. since the US and Israel use similar TTPs. |
I don't think I've seen two IDF soldiers wearing the same t-shirt. I think I even saw a Hard Rock Cafe t-shirt in one photo. |
