Wilderness makes the 'original' and IMO best instructor belt.

When 5.11 was the name of a pair of pants made by Royal Robbins they were great.  Nowadays though I tend to disregard anything with the 5.11 label as overpriced Chinese gear.  But that's just my opinion, I guess.

As far as I know, The Wilderness is the only place where you can get their belts. I have 4 of their belts and unless I have to dress up, they are the only belts I wear.

SOE doesn't exist anymore, but I'm sure that John Willis can make a very nice belt for you.

I had a standard wilderness that I have worn the finish off of over the years. I have now gone to the Titanuim version. I LOVE IT!!! Its alot more on the price but between the wear qualities and the lack of any weight, its the perfect belt. I will recommend it 100% to EVERYONE!

I have 2 Frequent Flyers belts and 2 Original Instructor belts. All of mine are 5-stitch. They are all also 1 1/2" in width, this way they can fit in a larger variety of pants.

Thanks I think I'm gonna get the  The Original Instructor Beltâ„¢  in 5 stitches...now..1 1/2 or 1 3/4 ?

Jeans and BDU pants can usually handle the 1 3/4 fine and are still comfortable with the 1 1/2.

Most Dockers-type pants are okay with a 1 1/2 but can't handle the 1 3/4.

Editted to add that I use a 1 1/2" frequent flyer belt for daily CCW wear and a 1 3/4" 5-stitch with jeans or whatever for when I'm in a class or something like that where I'm carrying open all day.
