I hope one of you guys can help me out here, I need some sort of rig to hold the below listed gear. All this is for is some all day hunting I do every now and then when some of the locals call and want me to kill off some wild pigs, coyotes or whatever on thier property.  This will just kind of be an all purpose whatever I need it to be kind of a rig, keep that in mind.

2  30rnd AR mags
2  Double stack Glock or 1911 mags
small surefire
4 extra 123a batteries
GPS
cell phone
concise first aid kit
a couple of power bars
Leatherman wave mt

Thats about it, give or take a few odds and ends. Concievably that could all fit nicely onto a drop leg rig worn on my left thigh, the right thigh being occupied with my G21.  I do carry a camelbak on my back so a few of those things could go in it like the GPS, batteries, cell, food, but I would like for all of it to be in a nice accessible drop leg configuration if I can do it without it being a h uge bulky mass. Somebody please direct me to where I can find something that can suit my needs at least partially.

Why do you want a drop leg rig? All that stuff, plus more, can easily fit into a Camelbak. A drop leg rig isn't needed for the application you described.

For accessability. I do not like having to monkey around on my back looking for my stuf, I would rather have it in an easily visible, easily accessible place.

get a tac vest...plenty of pockets for more than what you listed ....easily accessible...good for hunting....less weight on your legs if you go hunting...less snags on branches  just my .02

if you're pretty adamant about getting a thigh rig, I'd suggest you get some kind of molle platform like an Eagle or HSGI and add a single M4 mag pouch and a GP / Utility pouch for all the other stuff.   You can get a GP/Utility pouch that has pals webbing on it so you can attach your pistol mag pouches.   As others mentioned though, I wouldn't go that route.  You'd be better served by just having your mags on your belt and a fanny pack for what you described IMHO.

a little bit of walking about with a DL rig with that much stuff bubba wrapped around his leg and he'll wish  he had either a) pack or b)an LCE setup

I had 2 DL in Iraq, both HSGI. 1 was for a pistol and 2 9mm mags, the other was for 4 5.56mm mags and 2 9mm mags. I went on 1 patrol dismounted patrol with them. They didn't work for me.

But if you want this setup, make sure you get a decent molle belt, like ICE tactical, and maybe some suspenders. Buy a couple of molle drop leg panels and customize the pouches you want.

Personally I say go for a TAC vest or chest harness. A FLC can be had for cheap and you are not carrying alot of gear so it wont be too heavy.

You don't want that stuff on your leg. Go chest harness for what you listed. YMMV.

What about some type of belt, then you could get the nessesary pouches and a maxpedition dump pouch for the rest. If it all got heavy you could get some straps to hold er up. Drop leg rigs will cause chaffing and irritation while running.

+1 on the Chest Rig.  Get started on the chest rig as it will give you the greatest in flexibility and can cover most of your needs.

CHECK THE EQUIPMENT EXCHANGE AS MANY GOOD DEALS ON POUCHES & CHEST RIGS CAN BE FOUND IN THERE FOR USED EQUIPMENT.

Might I suggest a Blackhawk STRIKE Commando Recon chest rig...  With the right pouches, it can be VERY effectively customized to specific applications, or else it can be setup for a general outing with your firearms...

It takes the load up off your leg, you don't have anything coming loose or flopping if running at high speed, and you have MUCH more capacity than any leg rig would offer...

Personally, my gear setup (that I'm still working on) WILL HAVE:

Right Leg:
Spec Ops Vapor Drop-Leg Holster (buying tomorrow) w/ Attachment Points for:
Double Pistol Mag Pouch for 2 Glock 17 Mags (buying tomorrow)
Pouch for Leatherman/Gerber Multi-Tool knife.

Left Leg (work in progress):
Spec Ops Drop-Leg Attachment Panel w/ Attachment Points for:
Pouch containing 4 Oz. Irritant Spray (Fox 5.3 or Freeze +P)
Pouch containing OC/CS Grenade (Mainly Outdoor Use as it requires Decontamination if indoors; Has Tear Gas)
Pouch containing OC Grenade (Mainly for Indoor OR Outdoor use as it's just a Fox 5.3 pepper spray grenade)
Multipurpose Pouch Containing 2 M4/M16 Mags and 2 Glock 17 Mags
(All of the above will fit the drop-leg panel; The Sprays & Grenades are only about 10 Oz total and the heaviest part of this rig is the Mag Pouch, which will be mounted in the center for weight distribution)
MOUNTED AT THE TOP of the drop leg panel at the Belt-Attachment Point will be a Rolly Polly for a mag dump pouch.

That, accompanied with what's on my chest rig will carry almost everything I will ever likely need in just about ANY situation...

you could have a double ar mag pouch, double pistol pouch, and a surefire pouch on a drop leg and it would not be that bad.  you could run those pouches on a pistol belt as well.  tactical tailor has good drop legs, or the ctd cheap ones.

You can do OK with a leg rig, as long as you're not prepping for battle.
If you just want a reasonable amount of ammo, I think you can do OK.

Here's mine:
-Very old Uncle Mike's duty belt.
-Blackhawk MkVI Airborne holster (I carry several different sidearms, so I don't have the much better Safariland system yet).
-Eagle 2-mag SAS pouch.
- 2 x HSGI double pistol pouches.

All of this carries very well.
Particularly since I ditched the Blackhawk 4-mag SAS pouch.  Much too bulky.  The 2-mag version conforms to the leg very well.

I lkie my HSGI drop leg unit that holds 4 ar mags and 4 pistol mags.  Very nice.  Just need a holster that will fit a 1911 and a M9.

Im not going into combat; I'm just going hunting for the day. I don't have any desire to march off into the woods looking like soldier of fortune with m uber tactical super duper chest rig 5000. If I was going into combat or if I was about to breach an entry then I would be all for the chest rig, I just do not think its best application lies in a day of hunting some pigs. I think my best solution so far lies in a rig like SJSAMPLE's and putting the rest into my Camelbak like molsen said. Thanks for all the input guys.

The Tactical Tailor 2 Piece MAV (modular assault vest) allows for easy on/off. If you need a grab and go rig, I'd look at this.
