this is how it came from EAGLE- all wrapped up and sealed tight

this is the entire content

first step on putting it on, is to secure the internal cummerbunds via hook-n-loop.  i cinch mines down tight.  you can see the external cummerbunds on the sides

next you bring down the front vest panel.  notice that there's pals webbing on the inside front wings, you can pretty much add any molle type pouch there.

lift up the front cummerbund flap and bring in one side and secure via hook-n-loop.. during this part, i usually hold the CB flap tab with my teeth

next bring in the other side external CB

and finally fold down the front CB flap which will automatically secure via hook-n-loop and you are GTG!

Let me just say, i LOVE this vest!!!  it's got hard plates in them right now, yet it feels so comfortable.  the shoulder pads are a dream.  it's kind of naked right now, still waiting for pouches from EAGLE and DBT along with the BALCS cut soft armor.

This is something you gotta try on to understand and really appreciate.  I know now why people like them so much.  Take it from me, i know it may seen expensive to some of you, but IT IS WORTH IT!!   Anyways, i just thought i'd share with you guys my early Christmas present to myself

nah, i don't want to take away their fun!     hey Steve, i don't know how you guys do it, but you guys are the only ones out there that i've seen with the LOWEST prices on these.

EAGLE offers a pretty darn good LE discount that i just couldn't pass up, plus they actually had this in stock!

and no shit on the assembly part!!   man it takes a while to find that right adjustment.  right now it is set up w/ the plates in them, and i know i'm gonna have to readjust when i get the soft armor in.

How does it compare to the Paraclete RAV? ...if you have any experience with that platform.

sorry man, i don't have any experience w/ the RAV.  all i know is what i hear.  and from what i hear it's an awesome rig too....only complaints i been hearing is the CB sagging.

but i tell, the CIRAS is totally adjustable in height and girth.  the one pictured above is a Medium and i still got lots of adjustment room even w/ the plates in them now.   i've never worn a RAV or a Predator, but the CIRAS feels really good!  in fact, i love it so much i'm gonna buy another one, but in Khaki

Thanks. I saw some RAVs with sagging cummerbunds too, but they were on people who had loaded all their mag pouches on there. I put all my rifle mag pouches under the cummerbund, and only had four pistol mags and a blowout kit on mine. No sagging.

Nice rig
I'm considering removing the inner (first) cummberbund to make it faster to put on/take off

I removed the inside cummerbunds, not much saving in weight but it's sure much faster to put on and take off.  It's about as snug without it on, I suspect it may be a bit cooler to wear too

Since you said yours was a medium, what is your height and weight? I'm 5'11, 190 give or take a few pounds so I am trying to decide if a medium or large would be better. Thanks

I'm 6", 170lbs, I got a large, just in case.  I'm glad I did, it's just the right size for me, even though I wear medium everything else.

 Thanks partner.

I think I'm gonna leave my internal CB on for now, I kind of like it.   Can't wait to give it a work out.

I was gonna tell you get a Medium, but I don't know now since you're right in between me and Duffy,   I'm 5'10", 185 lbs. w/ a 44" chest and 34-36" waist;  it's probably 36" now after all that turkey .    all I can tell you is that, as pictured I've got plates in them, and I still got about 5" in height adjustment and another 7" in girth adjustment on each side.   standby for pics.

okay here's the pics so you can understand better.  now keep in mind all adjustments are made via the back of the vest under the middle flap.  this is the back w/ the flap up and you can see all the adjustment straps for the shoulder and two CBs.

as you can see, this the right side external CB adjustment strap.  each grommet is about 3/4 to an inch apart, so basically i got about 7" of room left to adjust on EACH side.

these are the two shoulder straps, and as you can see i got about 5" of room left.  as is pictured above, the vest sits nicely above my waistline, w/ still room for a duty belt and gear.  hope this helps out a bit.  maybe Duffy can give you advice from a "taller" and "lighter" perspective

I have some of the Land CIRAS vests, size medium, coming shortly in MultiCam if you're interested!

CIRAS vests are fantastic.  Eagle has done such a good job on them.

Here is my Maritime CIRAS I just received:

Here is one of my little guys modeling it for me:

What is the difference between the land and the maritime?

The location of the release tab and the cumberbunds are different.  If you look at the Land, it has the cover flap in the middle, whereas the Maritime has two flaps, one on either side.  So the entire front of the maritime is one piece (not split) like the Land version.

At least, that is how I understand it.....

Exactly.    As far as the cable release tabs, the Maritime only has one which is located on the front top center of the vest (right under the neck).  The Land has two (2) releases, one near the front arm pit (opposite your shooting side) and one on the front bottom center.  If you look carefully at the pictures you're able to see all of them.

Why is it so much more expensive than the other carriers that EAGLE sells?

That thing looks absolutely sexy.

Most of the cost comes from the intricate job of the quick release, i believe
