how do you control/fix flapping straps?  chest/vest rigs usually have 6+ straps dangling down and ,when you add other molle stuff, it looks like you're standing in the middle of a "strap explosion"?  am considering twist ties, but hope there is something better available (maybe an idea for a new patent..eh?)
thanks

it's called "100MPH" tape. or if your really fancy, get some rubber bands (Ranger Bands made from Bicycle Tire innertubes).

I used to roll the straps up to the buckle or clip and wrap it 1 and 1/2 times with electrial tape with the free end of the tape folded over on it self (about 1/2") and cover with a piece of bicycle inner tube( wide enough to cover both sides of the tape wrap).  This allowed me to pull the tape and adjust the staps and replace that tape in the field with out pulling out more tape.  The piece of inner tube keeps the tape from becomming unravled...I've even used 100mph tape but I perfer the elacticity of the electrical tape.  Tape, inner tubes, bungi cords, and type lll nylon can fix, modify and adjust any thing in the field.  Also don't forget the many uses of the MRE spoon.

Take a look at how Camelback stows the straps on everything they make.
Two opposing half inch strips of velcro (you'll have to figure out length).
Sewn or glued in place on the end of each strap.
Roll the excess strap up & velcro around to itself.

It's a simple but brilliant idea.
