I'm looking to buy a decent-quality pack.  I'd be using it for mostly mundane uses (transporting books, laptop, etc) and the occasional use as an overnight bag.

Probably will be ordering one of the "assault" packs from Lightfighter, but not sure which do go with.

Does anyone have any experience with any of the following:  Lightfighter R.A.I.D. Pack, Eagle A-III Assault Pack, or the Tactical Tailor 3-Day (or 3-Day Plus) Pack?

I have the RAID.  I use it for a range bag/shooting platform.  I've added pockets to the sides to hold hearing protection, spotting scope, tripod, first aid kit, and cleaning kit.  Inside, in the mesh pockets, I've put eye protection and other small items.  The rest of the pack holds ammunition, stapler, targets (the little NRA ones), rainjacket, and anything else I might need.  It's a great pack.

I will say that it really doesn't lend to protection of a laptop.  If you purchase the RAID, you may want to go look at Tactical Tailor's Laptop sleeve pouch, which provides some padding and protection from the other items in the pack, or any knocks and other issues that come up.

The other two packs are good for what you want to do.  The only advantage the RAID has over the others is the copious amounts of MOLLE/PALS webbing for attaching pockets and pouches.

Hope that helps.

I've got a RAID.  Definately an A1 piece of kit.

Thanks for the replies.  I went back and looked at all 3 designs again and did decide to go with the RAID.  I'll probably pick up the Tactical Tailor laptop bag later on once I get my laptop back (loaned out to a relative for a couple of months).  Placed the order with Lightfighter online, and looking forward to receiving it.  I'll post my impressions once it arrives.

Although it's not as super-cool as anything made by TT, you may want to consider the Maxpedition Laptop bag.  It's got a few pockets on it for the mouse, AC adapter, etc.

I've got a laptop pouch from LL Bean that works well and fits easily in a daypack.

Thanks again for all of the suggestions.  I think I'll probably go with that Tactical Tailor laptop bag as it seems to be the most bang for the buck, and should fit within the RAID pack.
