Has anyone had any experience with the new MOLLE gear being issued by the Army and Marine Corp?  I was able to get a complete SAW gunner setup with the vest, SAW gear, shotgun gear, the complete pack with seperate waist belt and external frame, patrol pack, hydration bladder, bandoleer, claymore pouch, etc. All brand new.  Is this good gear or is it garbage?  Or should I just stick to my Blackhawk LBV?

The government issue MOLLE gear is a step forward from what has often been issued in the past; but it is not necessarily as well made as several aftermarket gear brands. It is good stuff, and if you got it cheap, hang on to it. However, to be fair, it is not the best stuff and is often replaced by soldiers who are issued it.

Keep the SDS stuff that you have. Not bad. Like LF said, there are some aftermarket brands that are better quality, but the PALS/MOLLE II system is lightyears ahead of the old ALICE and IMHO much better than most static tac vests and other propietary gear.

If you want a review of the stuff by an Active Duty Army O-3, check out this.
