Got my folder today from the EE.  Very happy at the shape it's in.  Light speckling though it doesn't look to have been fired much and has the expected handling marks.  Especially on the top of the barrel where the metal folding butt plate lays (lies?).

Bought it from another Arfcomer, but didn't see the SN or barrel code listed:

S/N:  S636443
Barrel:  DW

ONG Fixed: Ser#S394909V
KU Date code
#21 Rack number on stock.
Plastic follower. Over all, very good shape.

I'm really pleased with it. Only real "issue" (which is nothing) are small scratches on the reciever top.

I caught this before your edit. I think friendly smack talking in tech is okay.

Edit: bore came out great, just needed a good scrub. Tough to get a pic.

I'm listed as rack#64 in OP but it's really #63.

Very very minor deal but if I ever were to try and sell then this thread might be confusing to a buyer Can send pics if needed or check the email I sent a while back.

Thanks for all your efforts at gathering this info

It was offered to three seperate arfcommers, independently, hundreds of dollars below what you're seeing. Those offers were declined.

At these prices, I'm going for night vision. I wanted to give this site an opportunity first.

Well I finally got my two fixed stocks.  Both are 100% complete and serviceable no screws are buggered everything came off and went on fine.

No.1 Serial S378521V Rack number 49 in sharpie on stock unfired with only exterior wear no doubt from going in and out of racks for serial inventory.

No.2 Serial S392747V Rack number 29 in sharpie on stock fired but clean much more wear on exterior no doubt deployed on various state missions and firing ranges.

Cheers Guys

I had completely forgotten to add my ONG 870 folder info to this thread until a GD thread just jogged my memory last night.

I got mine from a friend of Master_Shake_TX. He told me neither he nor his friend had retained the information on it for this thread so here it is. I picked it up from my FFL at the very end of October/beginning of November (I'd have to look to be sure of the exact date).

Serial: S639080V
Barrel Code: DW, Cylinder

Looks to be unfired and still has what appears to be the factory cosmoline on it. Some light scuffs on the buttplate but that's it. No property tags or anything else.

A little late to the party. I now have a folder and fixed stock, thanks to an arfcommer.

The folding stock is S634776V, with DW barrel code. This shotgun is pretty much excellent condition, a few armory/rack type scuffs, and a few marks around the takedown pins, so it looks to have been cleaned multiple times, but shot or carried very little.

The fixed stock is S375979V, with CU barrel code. Overall condition is very good, has definitely been carried a lot more than my folder. Most wear is on the buttstock, lots of small to medium sized scuffs and scratches. It was missing the rear swivel, but replaced it with a Remington factory correct swivel from Numrich. Couple small spots of rust, but a solid gun.

I will add pictures later.

Just got an ONG Factory Folder as well, didn’t see the serial number in the list.

Serial #:  S634750V
Barrel Date:  EW
Rack #:  14

Really excellent condition, very happy with it.  Looking to find a fixed stock too.

I believe everything so far has been from '71-'72 time frame.

If I’m understanding what I’m reading. The receiver which has an S prefix was mfg 68/69..... but now the barrel has different codes and that could be another year!...

Just go by barrel date for these ONG guns. The contract was in 70/71 so 68 or 69 is not possible with the ONG guns. Someone correct me if I am wrong

Big thanks for this thread.
Because of it, I learned the 870 I inherited from my father was made between 1968-1973. I knew it was an older 870, but that surpassed my guess.
