I need to add a shotgun to my hog clearing arsenal for several reasons and it seems the more I read the more confused I get. Figured some of the smarter people here {than me} could point me in the right direction.
Looking for a 12 ga that can handle different size shells Range: obviously load will be a big factor but with non slugs would like to be able to hurt something at 40 yards Auto loader Hi cap - possibly even mag fed min 8 shots Fast shooting w lowest recoil possible easy way to attach a light and ir laser probably a rail system will be used with nv some of the time budget up to 2000, obviously happy to spend less. Any help on options would be greatly appreciated. |

Remington Versa Max or Benelli Super Black Eagle. Either will run 2.75, 3 and 3.5” shells. Add an extended mag tube with a railed clamp for extra rounds and a place to mount your stuff.
The Versa Max has the lower felt recoil of the two - but the Super Black Eagle has the advantage of being a better overall quality firearm |

If you can do without the 3.5" shells and want soft shooting an FN SLP model might do it for you. They have a model with a cantilever rail (the Mk1) and rifle sights that may be just what you're looking for. The rifle sights would allow you to engage piggies farther out with slugs no problem. They make a rifled barrel for it too which would give the option of sabots. They have ghost ring equipped models and pistol grip tac models as well. They have a tri rail extension that mounts over the mag tube too.
