I know this is an epic long shot but seeing as how I have been told to piss off by Franchi I'm not sure where else to look. I bought a SPAS-12 recently. Got it home and detail stipped it to make sure everything was fine. While everything looked good, the screw that holds the rear sight and heat shield on failed (right where the post is welded to the head). I can't seem  to find a replacement anywhere. Does anyone know where I can find one? I' shit out of luck at the moment and left with an otherwise nice but non useable SPAS.

Try Carlson's choke tubes.  If anyone will have that part they will.  The parts don't show up on their website....You'll have to call 'em.  You can also try Numrich Gun Parts.

Numrich is unfortunately sold out at the moment. They were the first place I tried. I'm thinking about swinging by a local smith/manufacturer to see if the can well the head back on.

Measure the thread and go to home depot....or look on McMaster-Carr.

No luck. What an odyssey this is turning into. The smith want between 150-200 to make a screw. Not going to happen. They sent me to several hardware store to check for a COTS replacement. They in turn sent me to a specialty fastener shop. No luck.  Called Carlson's and they have been the best lead thus far. While they dont have any either they said they would look into have a run made and to call back in 2 weeks to see what comes of their inquiries.

I'd easily pay 30 bucks for the screw if I could find one now that was an exact replacement.

Yeah I've been to 3 hardware stores and a Fastenall specialty fasteners store. Not as easy as it sounds. Apparently is a weird size in a fine pitch.

Do you have a picture of the screw? I should have my lathe back up and running really soon and I could take a stab at making one for you. Wouldn't cost you anything.
