I'm completely new to speedloading 2 or even 4 shotgun shells at a time. Been having decent luck practicing with 2 snap cap shells (May need to order 2 more to practice quad loading), but I don't have any other shotguns to compare the M4's loading with. I'm interested in getting into 3 Gun shooting, and I was wondering if you guys think the Benelli M4's shell loader and loading port are suitable for speedloading.

I honestly think I'd hate to modify the M4...

IMHO...the M2 will play better in the sandbox with your 3-gun application.  Massive 3-gun aftermarket support for the M2 verses nearly none for the M4.  To my knowledge, high quality speedloading aftermarket options for the M4 do not exist.  You can ghost load which is a nicety!

The M2 would be faster for reindeer games. Most who play with the M4 add a tti shell elevator. Some bevel the loading port to make it bigger. Most use speed loaders like the California competition speed loader.

Any of the common M2 modifications (beveled and extended port, welded lifter) and loading method (load 2, load 4, weeks hand) will work with the M4.

Any of the competition guns modifications will help on any gun/model, but time spent practice your loading technique will pay the biggest dividend.
