I got a brand new Electric clay thrower from my Daughter when she moved to Florida and decided she didn't want to pack it. It's brand new. she never got around to using it. I checked it over last week and hooked it up to my rider mower battery and it seems to work fine. The question is the leads to the battery are very short. maybe a foot long off the machine. What kind of battery set up do I use. I originally though, just hook it up to my truck battery. But the leads are way too short to reach up and under the hood and I don't know how long I can use it before it would kill the truck battery and I can't drive home. Need advice from people that own one.

generally they work the longest with a good deep cycle battery (trolling motor battery)

You could always extend the leads. Lots of people run them off their car batteries so I dont think you would kill it.

You could always just buy a cheap battery and run it. Or if you dont want to deal with the thing sell it on craigslist
