So i picked up a brand new Versa Max 26" synthetic and was very excited to shoot it
took it out to the trap range to dust some clays, but found myself missing more than a good portion of them... I just recently sold a Mossberg 930 (so that i could pick up this new Versa Max) that i owned and i had no problems hitting clays with that thing. So i found this very stange and decided i would shoot some paper to see where the POI was... and found out why i was missing so many clays... This thing shot low right, like really right. I was a little disappointed because the Mossberg shot perfect out of the box and i expected a $1k gun to do the same. after shooting the paper i went back to clays and aimed high and to the left and was able to hit them no problem, but this kind of annoyed me that i had to tell myself to aim that way... I didnt think of adjusting the shim when i was at the range but when i was at the range so when i got home i did so i m waiting to see how it will do this weekend. My question: Is it normal that i have to adjust the shim on this thing because the Mossberg i didnt have to adjust anything. If adjusting the shims doesnt work i might just send it back to Remington... Any Input on this? |
| I have a versa max tactical and it shoots right aswell. I've got an aimpoint t1 on it sighted so the dot is the center of the spread and when looking through that it is even more pronounced how far the center of the spread is to the right of the front sight on the barrel. The dot is a good 1/2" to 1" to the right of the front sight |
