I thinking about ordering a hawk shotgun with the ghost ring sites from centerfire . Are they good? Are the parts interchange with rem 870?

Do a little research and you will find that people that own them love them, everything fits but at 870 barrel. I put all the Magpul stock and forend etc on mine. Mine is solid as a rock. I had a gunsmith friend recently go thru and do just a little polishing here and there. The action feels like a 1000 dollar gun now.

I love mine, most people that own them do

As above, most owners rate it as a good buy.

It's not up to American standard of fit and finish and while it's a copy of the Remington 870 it's not an exact copy, so don't count on internal parts fitting.

Usually stocks and many accessories will fit.
Barrels will not interchange due to the different location of the barrel support ring.  However, it's often possible to use a Remington barrel on the Chinese gun by making a spacer tube to fit between the Remington's barrel support ring and the magazine cap on the Chinese gun.
Magazine extensions also will not fit due to the barrel support ring.  An American extension will stick way out beyond the muzzle.

Bottom line is the Chinese guns make great truck and home defense guns, but they aren't up to the quality of an American gun and you may not be able to accessorize it like you'd want.

Great shotgun.  I just put a mesa tactical adjustable stock adapter on mine, and I've got a wilson combat 1 rd extension coming tomorrow.  As stated above everything is compatible, except the barrel.  If you get a white lacquer stik you can color in the front sight.  I would actually put their quality up there with, if not better than the American made 870.  the 982 has a metal trigger group, not plastic, more robust receiver.

I just put the adjustable stock on today, so I don't have pics of it.   Here it is on my bed

Another photo when I was doing a dinner pic thread:

If you put a side saddle on it you'll have to change out the forend for the LE speedfeed forend.

I have a H&R pardner pump its an excelent shotgun and my HD weapon i also have an 11-87 and a mossberg 500 both have 28" and rifle sight smooth bore deer brls. and all are 12ga. when i wanted a dedicated HD gun i chose the P.P.because of all the great reviews  and at the time dicks was having a sale on them so for not much more than a short brl. for the mossberg i got a purpose built gun that has so far proven to be a very reliable . They're great inexpensive shotguns. I've spent quite a bit of time swapping parts between my 870s and my Hawk shotgun and I've found that every part is interchangeable.

The barrel isn't a direct swap, but if you make a simple spacer it works great. (shown below)

I have one. They are good shotguns. Seem to be hell for stout. If you add a side saddle, don't buy a new forend.  Just cut the current one down.

I'm well over 500 rds in on mine. Love it.

Loc tight the rear sight screws. Fluf the hard edges coming out of the ejection port, and replace the mag follower.

A great value.

was just randomly browsing today and came across this thread. This is the second site I've read about these guns on and I have never seen one. Are local shops carrying these lil guys or is a special order thing?

Check your local WalMart. Mine carries them, but any can special order them for you.

They can special order it:

Show this number 0001063301518 to a Walmart associate to find this item in your store.

that's my problem, guns are one of the things I won't buy without having it in my hands.

You could ask what their policy is about special ordering and not wanting it. I'm guessing it's popular and cheap enough that they could sell it pretty quickly.

Heard good things. However, i couldn't bring myself to buying a nock off of an American Classic. I'd spend the extra $100 for an 870. USA!

+1 on the Remington.  I will never understand buying a Chinese knockoff when you can have the real deal for a fraction more...that's just me.
