Anybody ever use a Remington 11-87 slug barrel on their 1100?

I understand there are some differences in the position of the gas seals on the mag tube, as well as some differences with an extractor dimple on the barrel extension.  I have also heard that this works, it can be used on an 1100, but adds some kick due to additional gas pressure.

Are there any safety issues or will this cause excessive wear on the Receiver components?  Any feedback would be welcomed.

The barrel was purchased for me by mistake so we are into it for $225.  I have it listed on the EE but if I can safely use it with no downside I just might keep it.

Anybody even hear of this being done?

I know that per Remington you should never use an 11-87 barrel on an 1100 gun and vice versa, I believe they are made different and have different gas systems?
