I'm having an issue with my new mossberg 500. For starters it has never been fired, and it's a 12gauge. When I go ahead and try to cycle the gun slowly, the bolt slides through the receiver a little lower than it normally should (compared to my 20gauge mossberg) and catches right before it locks in with the barrel. Now when I pull really hard on the forend it will lock the bolt in place as it should with the barrel, but this requires extreme force to achieve this. Also, if I cycle the gun really fast and hard in one fluid motion like i was rapidly firing the shotgun the bolt closes fine and smoothly.  I've posted a video on YouTube to help you all see the issue I'm trying to describe.  I've since disassembled the receiver and checked all the parts for damage or bends, and found nothing wrong with the removable parts (again comparing them to my 20 gauge). So, any advice on what to do? Thanks in advance.

That bolt should not be sliding up at an angle when it goes into battery, if I am seeing that right.

You are 100% certain that it is assembled correctly?  I just looked at a 500, and the bolt moved back and forth horizontally when the action is cycled.   The bolt does not lift up when closing.

Yes I'm certain that it is assembled correctly as I've owned other mossbergs in the past. You are correct that it shouldn't be sliding at an angle, but it most definitely is in this case.  I'm at a loss as to why it is sliding this way though.

Maybe I'm missing something, but it looks like the bolt is moving ok, except for the sticking.

Is the bolt locking properly when the action is closed (ie, you can rack the slide unless you either pull the trigger or press the action lock lever)?

Are the bolt and rails properly lubricated?

Check to make sure the forearm is not binding or rubbing on the barrel when the action is open - I have seen loose forearms on the 500 series rub the barrel and cause binding.
