Having trouble right out of the box with my Remington 870 Tactical and was wondering if anyone could assist. The gun has been broken down and thoroughly cleaned and oiled. http://youtu.be/9S5LBtGSvEw?hd=1 The issue was able to be repeated using different shells and the shells being shot in the video were: |

The 870 by design has a very weak ejector. While you wouldn't have this issue with other shotguns, a little practice can eliminate the issue as you just have to put a little more effort in your rearward stroke and a little less going forward.
In short, the 870 is very picky when it comes to sloppy cycling. |

I was brought up shooting an 870...my father told me to always make a deliberate effort to pull back all the way with great force to make sure the shell was ejected, moving forward with maybe half the effort of the rearward motion.
Try to get that shell to "pop out" as far as you can. |

Ejection looks very weak. The empty shells seem to fall out only a few inches away from the port. I don't see short stroking so you may have an issue with the ejecter setup in that gun. I would be very dilberate with the forearm and if it continues to eject like that then send it back for repair.

Pumping way too fast. Almost looks like he was trying to slam fire on round #4. Former Ithaca owner? Gun functions fine, common denominator is the shooter. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast. For now, if you can't hear the action slam back when you open it, you are trying to hard. |
