I was given thi sshotgun by relative and am running into an issue.It will not release the slide after a round is fired with out hitting the slide release button. Is anyone familiar with this shotgun and the posible issue it is having? I would like to get a few possible diagnosis's before taking it to a gunsmith.

Shotguns have a part, usually a lever that locks the slide until the trigger is pulled, at which point the lever moves out of the way so the action can open.
There are any number of reasons why the lock isn't functioning, ranging from a spring out of place or broken or lost tension, to a worn part, to a missing part, to a part that's gummed up badly, to a part that's been altered by some Billy Bob. Without actually seeing the gun no one can give you much more than this, and only a gunsmith who looks into the problem will be able to diagnose what the issue is. |
