took my wifes 20ga apart for cleaning. going to put it back together, the forearm wont go back in the receiver with the bolt and carrier. if i take the bolt and carrier off, the arms of the forearm will slide right in. what am i missing? i have a 12ga 870 that is about 10 years old and ive never had this problem with that gun. this one is new last year. did something change?

Do it carefully and slowly, see where it's hanging up, and then see if you can put it together.

Did you push on the tabs inside the receiver?

yeah, normally i have to push the right shell stop (tab), then the left, but for some reason this just isnt working. ive honestly never had this problem with an 870 before.

Have one of the shell stops moved forward or backwards? (do the front trigger group pin holes still line up?)

this was it right here i think. i put the trigger group and and the right shell stop had moved forward. as soon as i moved it back, everything just slid right in like it should. thanks!
