I bought a new Mossberg 590 for the neighbors. What I mean is they are so close if something were to jump off and I start firing a center fire pistol projectiles may enter their dwelling.  Hence the shotgun.
Part of my fascination with guns is how they work. So I disassembled the whole gun.
It seems the gas system mag tube combo isn't strong enough to support a sling.
How are you mounting a sling on a 590?
Pics would be good.

Thank you for your time

I run THIS GG&G front plate.

I'm not saying it is the best––but it's what I got.

Front plate only––rear mount seems to add too much length to the trigger pull, and it also semi-complicates the action release.

YMMV.

For the rear I got a Specter Gear shell-holder (here...), but I haven't really worked it into the shotgun yet, so I have no idea as to how well they work out.

Somebody will have firsthand experience.

ETA: For the rear I'm thinking about maybe modding up an AR/Garand-style rear swivel.

+1 on the GG&G front sling plate. I use the sling stud on the stock for the rear.
