The trigger is almost impossible to pull. If you pull the trigger straight back normally, it wont go off. The only way you can get it to work sometime, is to pull the trigger straight down toward the trigger guard and that still take more force than and it should.

Any idea what is wrong in the trigger assembly?

Thanks

Did it just start to happen on it's own?

Has anyone ever taken it apart?

There are many far more qualified here then me, but I'd say take it to a gunsmith if you're not comfortable pulling the pins and seeing if anything look off.

Take the trigger group out of the gun and have a look. It could be something as simple as a piece of shot or dirt blocking a part’s movement - or something more serious with damaged parts.  No way to know until you take the trigger group out of the gun and see what’s happening.

I have pulled the trigger group out and inspected and i dont see anything out of place really, but this is the only 870 i own so not really sure what to look for. I have built many AR's so i have not problems with pins and working on it, jsut not familiar with the gun to know enough.

Gun was actually left to me. I have had it for many years and never touched it. Decided i wanted to make a HD shotgun and started playing with it and found the problems. Probably why they left it to me, i have a great family, let me tell you lol.

i would say pop out the safety and see if anything looks odd with it..just push the pin out, but hold your thumb over the hole on top as there is a spring and detent in there..also does this have a J-lock safety?
