So I just bought a used 11-87 off the EE, picked it up from my FFL today.

Seller stated it worked fine, and I believe him. Problem is, I can't get the bolt to move. At all.

I disassembled it all, and once the trigger group is out it cycles fine, but as soon as I put the trigger and everything attached to it back in the gun, the bolt won't budge.

I'm guessing something got bumped during shipping, but I have no idea what. This is my first semi-auto, so I don't have any experience besides what a little Google-ing will give me.

Anybody have any ideas?

pics of the trigger assembly from various angles before it goes in and bolt in the receiver from underneath would help.

I put it away for tonight, but I'll add some tomorrow.

One update: I lubed the piss out of it, and I can get the bolt to move the full range of motion, but it's very difficult to move rearward, ad won't even return to be closed under its own power. It's definitely binding somewhere.

If you don't know what you're dealing with, don't force anything.

Find a guy at the club who can help you.

1187 owners manual

It's not too complicated.  You shouldn't have many problems if you break it down & clean it by the book.

Good Luck.

Since you have no Idea of how a remington 1100 or 1187 works you should go to shotgunworld and see the easy pictures show what you are doing wrong!

You really have to try hard to make the 1100 searies  or the  bereta 300 guns not work  .  They are the stalworks (best) of the gas guns you wll ever buy,

Is your triger group cocked? When you put it in?

Yeah, I actually tried both ways... I think one of the pins in the trigger group got drifted out a little, I gave up on it, my buddy's an amateur gunsmith, he's gonna look at it

check that the bolt carrier to recoil spring link (tuning fork) is not bent...allowing the hammer to go between the legs

It's very likely the link popped out, or one leg of the link broke off - that will prevent the bolt from moving back.

Well, me and my friend got it working. Took it apart and put it back together five times, and on the fifth time it worked.

Absolutely no idea what could have caused it, but it's working now.
