| Has anyone heard _anything_ about the Kel-Tec KSG since the flopped "pre-Christmas" release everyone was talking about? I know that a lot of industry partners and firearm reviewers got their hands on preproduction versions to write reviews with, but since all the hype at the end of last year, I haven't heard a thing. Can anyone give even a somewhat authoritative answer on this one? When the hell are they going to actually release this thing? |

see, that's the thing. I did a Google search, and I searched the shotgun forum here on arfcom, so why was there not a giant banner that read something like, "KSG IS FINALLY HERE!" that played the sound of trumpets every time you mouse over it? Again, with all the hype, it's had a rather unremarkable launch. Good to know it's out now, although the price is already firmly gouged all over the interwebs.
Ah well. |

One was a pre-sample that wasn't actually for sale, but the guy had $1800 on it... Kel-Tec doesn't really have "big" releases, since they have limited production capabilities. They can barely meet demand as-is, so they don't want to hype up the release more than they need to to sell what they can make. Same thing happened with the RFB. I didn't know they were out in numbers yet, but I found and picked up one under serial #500 at a friend's local shop. |

According to an article in the latest NRA magazine, about things being debuted at the upcoming NRA convention in St. Louis, Kel-Tec is supposed to debut two NFA versions of the KSG. One will have 16" barrels and the other will have 14" barrels.
They can't even get Title I versions of the guns into buyers' hands and they're going to interupt production to produce guns with such a limited market. There are times I don't understand K-T's logic at all. |

There are times I don't understand K-T's logic at all. The quality of their existing product lineup isn't that great either. Its been hit and miss in terms of reliability for every Kel-Tec I've come across. They make excellent designs, but their execution isn't that great. With that said I don't trust the KSG yet. In fact Nutnfancy's shooting test of the KSG revealed reliability issues. |

I was going to preorder, but I was working on getting a USP at the time... I'm still excited about the KSG, even if it's a bit strange to use, as long as it will hold up fine with a bit of range use. I'm not going to be using it like a baseball bat or anything, so as long as it works, I'll be happy.
Haha, at this point, it looks like I'll have to wait until 2014 to get one at a decent price as well

| I would like one but I will have to wait until 2015-16 since I am not getting in on the pre-order thing or paying the outrageous asking prices. I had to find a PMR-30 on the secondary market from a friend who recently picked up a newest generation of it...........and still have not shot it. Hopefully these will come into our hands someday, but I gave up on the RFB and decided to go with another rifle. |

I like my RFB, and I got one in the mid 400's serial range, zero problems, $1400 2 months after it's official release. |

I don't need a 14 shot pump, but I would be interested in an 8 shot semi auto bul pup. Better to have 14 shots and not need them than to need 14 shots and not have them. BUT Better to have an 870 (or 10) and go on with life than to grow old waiting for KT production and/or pay scalper prices. |

Looks to be an interesting little gun.......IF its somewhat reliable and durable........You dont need much room inside a house to swing a 26" bullpup......... a full size 870 on the other hand.....
Does anyone else make anything like this? Like an earlier poster said.....8 shot semi auto in a nice compact package |

The cool appearance quickly loses its luster after you shoot it. I put close to 200rds thru one, I was not impressed, at all. Im not talking about the appearance, Im talking about the size and convenience of the overall package.......looks to be a GREAT duffel bag gun If its reliable.... What are your thoughts after 200 rounds? Kicks like a mule? reliable feeding? Any ejection problems? Smooth action? How do you switch from one tube the other? Hunduh |

Hunduh I don't like the high sight over bore profile, it comes with NO sights at all. However, we did put a RDS on it, it did make it a bit more sight friendly. Recoil, was manageable, but then again, I am not recoil sensitive, other folks in my group did feel the recoil was a bit stout. Feeding, it was reliable. No ejection problems to speek of. Action was far from smooth, had a stiff and gritty feeling and the trigger sucked. The switch that directs which tube it feeds from is right in front of the mag tubes, you flip the switch to block one of the tubes. IMHO, the switch is in a very inconvienant place. All that said, the size of the gun is very appealing, but it is not a very refined unit. |

Please use the search. We have a lot of threads on the KSG including a bunch of member reviews that have them. Link please. I tried the search function and didnt have any luck. Like an earlier poster said.....8 shot semi auto in a nice compact package Just held one of these bad boys yesterday- http://www.tactical-life.com/online/products/srm-arms-1216-semi-auto-shotgun/ Its a SRM Arms 1216, the "civilian" version holds 16 rounds. Its semi auto, with a detatchable, rotory, magazine and when you rotate from the empty tube to a full tube the carrier automatically closes and chambers another round. It is completely awesome and I would love to get one, but this one had a $2600 price tag on it. But if you got the dough, it looks like it would be perfect for CQC. |
