| I'm having a hard time deciding between the Blackhawk specops and the tapco TGS12. I like the idea of the recoil reduction of the blackhawk but, the tapco seems to have a more user friendly angle/drop to it.I'd appreciate any feedbak on either stock or even other options I haven't considered. |

Goldeye, this is for my only home defense shotgun. theres a big enough size difference between the 3 of us to make an adjustable stock almost mandatory. Familyman, yes that does help, thanks. I know its not what you want to hear but I would put a 12" LOP hogue and call it a day. No gimmicks, nothing to adjust or fail. And it will fit all three sized people. |

The 12" Hogue is definitely an option. The only possible downside is that - for most adults - you have to put your thumb along the side of the stock (versus the usual grip with the thumb over the top of the stock) or else you tend to bip yourself in the nose with your thumb under recoil. I've found the SpecOps to be pretty comfortable and no problem to line up the sights. They seem to be pretty rugged too. The only SpecOps that I've seen break is one that was loose in a steel box in the trunk when a police car took a telephone pole head-on at about 35 mph. |

I have a "youth" Speedfeed for the Remington 870. I really like it, but I think the LOP is 13". ETA: Yep, 13" LOP. From www.speedfeedinc.com : SPEEDFEED® YOUTH MODEL SET With all the features of the Sport Stock and a special shortened pull (13") the Youth Model is ideal for small frame shooters. As the youngster grows, replace the youth stock with our regular sport stock (or the original wood). Comes complete with stock, forend, and recoil pad. YOUTH MODEL SET 0350 Remington 870 12 gauge 0355 Remington 1187 12 gauge 0360 Remington 1100 12 gauge 0361 Winchester 1200/1300 12 gauge 0370 Remington 870 LW 20 gauge 0380 Remington 1100 LW 20 gauge ETA2: I see that you can shorten the 13" LOP of the Speedfeed IV-S stock an inch by using the Recoil SWAT Plate, though! |

What about the Mesa Tactical Urbino - I have been considering it...
Mesa Tactical |
| I have never seen a single female shooter or kid not like shooting the Knoxx stocks, even the folder, in either 20 or 12 gauge. Getting pistol grip, adjustable LOP and recoil reduction for the price of the Knoxx is a good deal and a good move. It gets you up and running and gives you some flexibility for "that one gun" until you have more guns. |
