Some of the worst buckshot I've used. Why is it some of the worst. I wanted to buy some. |

For that school of thought the plain old 00 buck is considered "bad" for people who think an 8-10 spread at 10 yards is a good thing there is nothing wrong with Winchester's civilian or .mil buckshot. |

While I do like flight control wad rounds for HD, thats not why... I just have gotten better performance out of others. Federal, Remington etc. That never patterned well out of my gun. Note, its a cyl bore. |

Note, its a cyl bore. I live near Olin in East Alton. When the rifle range was open I could buy a box of 5 for 1.00 The unplated shot always shot better with IC or even a lM or even MOD. Winchester did have a Double X buckshot load in magnum and standard that was copper plated. They had it in 00, 1 and #4 It patterned real well. I don't see it listed anymore |

Yes and no. Yes, the FC oriented types say it is bad because it opens up a lot. No, because it is made of soft, unplated shot and has a wafer wad. It typically results in wide patterns, which the wide pattern types like. However, it also tends to pattern with large voids. Part of that is because there is no shot cup and the soft unplated shot deforms as it moves through the bore. The soft shot also tends to penetrate less due to the deformation of the shot on impact. The GI load is typically priced more because some ignorant consumer will pay more for the GI label. For mass production buckshot to stockpile for the zombpocalypse it is probably ok. For the hunting use mentioned, probably ok too although the patterning and penetration could be a concern. |

Run at least one box for every kind of choke you want to use using 5, 10, 15, 20 and 25yd increments. |
