I have a Remington 870 express super mag. that just had a hogue forend installed.

It was very easy to install and fits just fine, the issue is that now it wont eject a round from the magazine so that it can chamber. Doesnt matter how hard I try pulling on the slide, It just wont release a shell from the mag.

It got me thinking that mabey theres a difference in the super mag receiver thats different from a regular 870 express. I know a couple of people that have the same forend that dont have any issues.

Anyone have any thoughts on this?

I installed it. It was just a simple switch. Unbolt the old and bolt in the new.

Same receiver just a longer ejection port and the ejector housing is different.  The forend should not an issue as I have had clients send these weapons in for conversions and I installed SF LE forends on them so any Remington 12ga forend works on your weapon.  Sounds like mag tube feed issue not a forend issue.   Reinstall the magazine spring and follower.   If it has a tube extension reinstall it correctly.  If that does not work then send me an e-mail as you have some other issue and there are some things I can have you check.  Could be as simple as trash behind the shell latch.  I have no way to know till you check some things.

Try removing the new foreend and working the action (i.e., just with the metal action tube).

I wonder if the new foreend is too large/long and is preventing the slide from moving all the way to the rear.

Thats gonna be the problem. It works just fine with the forend gone. It seems like the action bars are setting deeper into the new forend than the old.

I think ill try to fashion some kind of spacer to see if that'll fix the issue.

Well, did not want to start a mess on here as there are a bunch of guys that use the Houge forend.  I will not use them and recently even sent a guy pictures of why.   The Houge is not solid but has ribs in it.  The forend tube assembly digs into these over time and it becomes impossible to keep the forend tight becuase the more you tighten it the more it diggs in.  The Speedfeed LE is solid and will never have this issue.   The only reason I have even installed that forend is because that is the forend that Koxx sold.  It came in a Knoxx wrapper but was the over molded Houge, even had the name houge on it............ Throw that mess away get a SF LE and there will be no issues.

I'm having the same problem with the stock wood forend. Currently troubleshooting it. It seems the bar on the ejection port side is not disengaging all the way and preventing the rounds from leaving the magazine tube. Right now my shotgun is a paper weight

ETA: It seems that the spring is too weak. It will feed reliably up until the last round or 2. Same problem using mag extension with longer spring or stock mag length with original spring.
