Can anyone recommend a shotgun training class in Texas, OK, MS, LA, AR vicinity of the country? I'd like to do something with my girlfriend to work on the basics of using a shotgun in HD/SD situations. Not looking for something intense, as I want to baby-step into the training. I would like to avoid the possibility of my girlfriend associating learning shotgunning techniques with pain.

Something like combat loading, use of sling, ammo carry, patterning, select-a-slug, etc.

Thanks for any recommendations you can provide

Probably the best thing for you to do is to ask in the home town forums for those states as well. The local guys will probably be able to give you more info of what is in those parts.

Not sure how far you are from Memphis TN but there is a range there with a guy that knows his stuff.  Go to www.rangemaster.com and check out the schedule for Tactical Shotgun classes.  His name is Tom Givens and you would be hard pressed to find a better Instructor.   I can also brag that the shotguns he personally uses while instructing are AI&P Tactical shotguns built by me but to his specifications.   So I learned some good stuff just building his shotguns.

Not sure when the shotgun courses are so getting the telphone number from the site and calling is a good idea if this is of interest to you.   I have sent guys there from AR and TX before and they loved the place.  Hope to stop in myself soon

Rangemaster's Class is oriented to the HD use of the shotgun.
It is a really good BASIC class.

Thanks for the pointers everyone. I checked out the RangeMaster site. Memphis is a little far, but I do have opportunities to get away for a few days. I will keep that class in mind.
