What exactly did he recommend for an HD shotgun? 4-Round factory magazine with a plastic follower for reliability. Surefire. Shortest stock you can use and still get an effective cheek weld and sight picture. Side saddle with small screws lock tighted and tightened until the plastic slightly buldges -Shells loaded brass up. Bead sight brl if it shoots to point of aim out to 50 meters with slugs. -He told a couple guys whose brls didnt shoot to POA to buy a new brl or get some type of adjustable sights. Thats a 1990 production Express I paid $178.61 for out the door. |

Fairly new to all this and really interested in learning more, thanks. |

Why the plastic follower (metal ones not as reliable)? In general yes. Some metal followers are OK. The factory metal followers are usually flimsy, or steel. They can corrode/clog with debris and stop the rounds from feeding. They are also usually dark, and very often smooth. If you do touch check the mag tube, it is a lot easier to use one of the synthetic followers that has a little button on the end, and the bright colors help to visually check the mag tube. Why the shells loaded brass up?
So they don't fall out when you move around or the gun fires. Fairly new to all this and really interested in learning more, thanks.
Awerbuck is a great person to learn from then. |
