Hey,
Looking to alter my 870 express magnum into a combat shotgun. Currently sporting that ~28" barrel and I am looking for a good 18". Who makes the top quality 18" barrels for a 870? |

Can I replace that collapsable stock with say a magpul ctr? Any knowledge on this? I don't know. But, you can get a MESA stock and it does have a Mil-Spec tube and can take AR grips. |

Can I replace that collapsable stock with say a magpul ctr? According to their website: Q: Can I replace the butt stock portion of the stock? A: The SpecOps is not compatible with other M4-style stocks. The increased recoil energy generated by a shotgun requires the use of a heavier, sturdier tube than is found in standard M4-style stocks. If you want to put on a magpul or variant stock , mesa tactical might be the way to go. |

To answer the original question, I think Remington itself will be your best bet. They have a large number of 18" and 18.5" barrels with just about any sight and choke option you could want. If you have a question if the barrel you want will fit your shotgun, call their customer service. They are great to work with and will answer all your questions. |

| There is always the option of sending your current barrel to guncat to get cut down and re-threaded. 28" barrels arent really worth much due to how common they are so you wouldnt be able to recoupe much of the purchase price of a new barrel by selling your old one. This is the exact route I took for my turkey gun because I didnt have any use for the original 28" barrel. |
