Hey All,

Found a local hardware store that had a good amound of 2 3/4 winchester number 1 sixteen pellet buck (as well as three boxes of 20 pellet) and 2 3/4 12 pellet 0 buck.  So if both of these patern well in my shot gun which would be the prefered one to stock up on?  I have read a lot (mostly here) about number 1 buck but haven't seen much about 0 buck, is there a reason?

Pics of the goods:

Remember to keep an eye out on the small local places too.  This guy has between 50 and 100 boxes of each on his shelf (for obviously some time) with a very reasonable 3.29 per box price tag.

0 buck doesn't stack as well as 1 or 00 in a 12ga shell, so generally doesn't pattern as well as those two.

Buy the #1 Buck.  Sixteen .30 cal projectiles is good.

The reason #1 buck is the "best", is that if you multiply the frontal area of 9 - 00 buck pellets, and do the same for 16  #1 buck pellets, the #1 buck gives the most frontal area, and therefore the most damage.

0 buck would be my choice

Thanks All,

I was pretty sure 1 buck would be the consensus I was curious why 0 buck isn't mentioned much.

As I mentioned this is a small local source and he has plenty of both so it looks like I can get as much of either as I want.
