I am thinking of getting one as a range toy.

You mean the 1887 by Norinco? I vote no. I out a box of birdshot thru it, and the handguards came off, took it to the dealer, and he gave me store credit

It works, and yes, it's a range toy (a fun one though!).

I still need to refinish the stocks.

It's similar to the one from Terminator 2, although that one was a 10ga. Two would be awesome, but I'd need to get the levers opened up to be able to cycle them one-handed. Alright, my (not so)inner-geek has come out enough for one day now.
