What parts are included in the flex tab conversion kit that Remington and Brownells sell?
I remember hearing that the bolt and/or slide assembly were different but looking at these parts on a flex tab 870 and a non-flex tab 870 has me thinking I am blind. I just do not see any differences. Anyone have a pic that shows me what I a missing? Thanks. |

IIRC the carrier assembly is different. The older 870s didn't have the cuts in the carrier, it was a solid machined piece of metal. Here's a YouTube link to how it the conversion works. This is a pic of a conversion kit that's on gunbroker right now. Don't expect this pic to last a long time, but it's here for now. As for the full $80 Remington conversion kit, that's restricted for purchase and I can't vouch for what's in it.

Conversion parts are as above: The carrier, a different slide, and a different bolt.
The flex-tab conversion kit isn't restricted as far as I know. Brownell's sell it: http://www.brownells.com/.aspx/cid=0/k=flex+tab/t=P/ksubmit=y/Products/All/search=flex_tab |
