Whats the M4 based on? I ask, because I'm wondering if I buy one of these fancy-pants super-expensive scatterguns can I swap a 26 or 28" barrel onto it when I feel the need to shoot clays after a 3-gun match?

Nope. One barrel is what you got....does have choke tubes though.

If you wanted a Benelli that can hunt, and do HD duty then get an M2. M4 is a dedicated combat type shotgun. By the way if you do get the M2 the barrels on all Benellis are pricey.
