well since i got my 930spx for serious work i've been thinking about putting a top folding stock on my 870 to make it easier to take camping/hiking, what are your guys thoughts on this stock? any other recomendations? it's already got a 18.5in bbl and a +2 tube extension, i'd like to keep it as short/legal as possible

I had a top folding stock on a moss 500 durring my first deplyment. I hated it. It made aiming a real bitch. (and it was hard to work the safty but you wont have that problem with a 870.) I recomend getting just a pistol grip if your trying to keep it small. If you must have a folding stock, I prefer the side folding type. They are faster and simpler. (is simpler a word?) I found that if you have a folding stock and a shotgun, you never take the time to unfold the stock. but thats just me. hope that helps

I would look for a side folder too. You want something that maintains a decent cheek weld when folded out. The butler creek shell holder is good, or anything with a consistent swing arm that you can press you cheek up against. I was looking at the wire frame top folder that Remmy was putting on their 870s, but when I shouldered it, it was trying to aim with a coat hanger in your face.
