I'm having issues loading the 1st shell. With the gun empty, bolt closed, and when I try to load the 1st shell into the magazine, I have a hell of a time getting it in there. All the other shells there after slide right in.

To get the 1st in it seems I have to push up into the receiver very hard, and then it will go. Once the 1st goes in, everything else is smooth, no issues.

Everything on this gun is stock with no upgrades.

Anyone else have this issue or can someone tell me how to resolve this issue?

Thanks!

maybe a bur in the magazine tube that the follower hangs on when the gun is empty?? then after the first shell is in, the follower is past the bur and doesnt hang up any more...

My FN SLP will do the same thing when I'm using high wall brass loads. The lip of the brass would catch on the receiver and I had to jiggle it a few times to get it in. I don't own an SPX though, so I can't say for sure this is your problem.
