I am going to get a side saddle for my 870 to use in three gun.  Wanted to know if it worth the extra money for the Mesa, or would a Tacstar or Wilson work just as well?  Thanks

I have used 6-7 tacstar side saddles, they work great.

I have the Tacstar, but I think the mesa is the better of the two.  I would get the mesa.

I have a 6 shot tac-star on my 590 and have no complaints.  People have said to store shells in the holders for years and they still stay tight.

The TacStar is fine for the money. The Mesa is nice, but has issues. I dont think its worth the extra cash, unless you need something particular, like the added capacity, or a pic rail.

I have a six shot Tacstar on my 870 and it stays loaded always. It has only been about six months since I put it on, but it still holding tight.

The Mesa Tactical one is pretty good. I have left shells in for a loooong time, and the rubber "tension" bar has never lost its grip.

I have an 8-shot Mesa shell carrier on my benelli M4, and other than the screws being cheap, it has no problems.

Thankfully, Mesa Tactical now has resolved the issue with screws, they are offering some good quality hardened screws, so they have a good clean slate with me.

They have also re-engineered the screws/pins for their 870 as well as a bunch of others so they dont snap off, and they dont pinch the reciever too much.

Pretty much NO product is perfect, and Mesa Tactical has seemed to be good at fixing their issues, so far.

I have a Tacstar on my Mossberg 500, does the job for me.  No problems with it.

Been using the Tac-Star models for years and have no problem recommending them.
