I am kind of new to shotguns, but i am considering picking up a remington 870 exprees synthetic 7-shot. I would like to be able to use the gun for both home defense and skeet shooting. I would pick up a longer barrel for skeet shooting and keep the short one for HD but would the extended tube be a problem/disadvantidge in skeet shooting? Does anyone have a photo of an 870 with the mag extension and a 26-28 inch barrel? Again i am a noob when it comes to shotguns....but in general is an 870 a good choice for a skeet/HD gun?

-Thanks for any info

The extended tube and mag spring are easily replaced with a magazine cap and the shorter standard capacity spring when you change barrels. I'd guess it will cost $25 max for both parts if you feel that it's an issue.

IMO, shooting the same gun all the time is MUCH better than shooting two or three. It's kinda hard to go wrong with an 870.
