[ARCHIVED THREAD] - Remington 1100 Load Gate problem

A buddy has an 1100 he uses for skeet/dove hunting. He brought it to me lasdt week and I can't figure it out.

The load gate won't elevate far enough to allow you to insert a round into the magazine when fixed to the barrel. However, if you remaove the barrel, the load gate will lift enough to insert a round.

Anyone know how to fix this?
