Hello, I just recently purchased a moss590 for some fun/hd/3gun. I am a fairly light person 145lbs, and when shooting slugs and buck shot i get knocked around pretty badly. I like the factory stock especially where the safety is located, so Im not too sure if I should put a pistol grip type stock n it. And I saw there are mercury tubes you can buy to insert into the stock. does anyone know what type I shoud look at? If any will even fit. thanks nick |

Two simple words.... Knoxx Comp-Stock!! It is conventional styled (so it works great with the Mossberg and it's safety location), and it works like M-A-G-IC in making the recoil go away! It takes 3.5" magnum loads to less than 2 3/4" skeet recoil. I have them on all my pump guns now (excepting Mossberg 590 bullpup since they don't make that one!) I tell everyone how great an accessory / option this is for a pump gun and they never believe it until they shoot it. NOTE - You need to check with your 3-gun rule book, because I understand that in some of the rule books having any "recoil reducer" on your shotgun will move you up a class. It is Big MoJo for a pump gun. Check over on Knoxx's website as they had some kick ass videos of the Knoxx staff blazing away and you can really see the difference the recoil reducing stock makes! The full recoil stroke is only about 1 3/4" but because of the way it is cammed (uses a roll over cam like a compound bow) it dissipates a LOT of recoil in that little space. I wouldn't imaging that you'd get poked in the eye unless you really crowd the eyepiece. adjust your focal point and you should be good to go! BIGGER_HAMMER ![]() |
