I have a 870 SuperMagnum.
I have done a few little things (speedfeed stock, Vang Safety and bought an 18" police barrel) and I want to finish it off with a flashlight. I am looking into the discontinued SSL-1 from Insight. It only puts out 80 lumens compared to the newer model that will put out 125 but I really dont care for a strobe light anyways.
I remember a few months ago some ppl. were saying that the LED lights create a glare in the smoke after shooting. Is this correct??
I am going to mount it on the foregrip with a polymer rail from ergogrips.com. Should I use a 4" or 6" rail?? I might want to put a Vertical Foregrip on Thanks And GOD BLESS AMERICA!!

I bought the light and a VFG today. I will post pics when I put them on because I feel I owe it to all the users of this websight. Thanks

I've used both LED & incandescent taclights during nightshoots and while I don't recall seeing any reflection from fired gasses I did see a lot of reflection from kicked up dust w/both types of lights. I use the 80 lumen TLR-1 myself, might have gone w/the SSL-1 if they'd made a remote tapeswitch for it.

Thanks guys. Yea, a switch would be nice but it will do as it is.
That websight has a cheap BSA reflex scope I might buy for my airsoft gun, real good prices. I bought the ssl-1 for real cheap tho so I will stick with it. Botach, check it out.

Hey KLYPH, I bought the largest Ergogrip rail for the Rem 870 and wish I had a lil bit more hand room. If you install a VFG only then it really wont matter much to you. The rails are like $50 and mine needed to be fitted. When I installed it the rails on the sides were too long when rack the action bars back the rails were hitting the sides of the receiver. They are aluminum rails, and I was able to quickly fix the problem by cutting the sides off a slight bit with a Dremel tool. I used an Insight M3 light that i had left over thats been sitting in my safe. It's simple and cheap and it works.

Yea, I thought about getting one of those forends but they are $80.oo now.
I am just going to try the 6" rail on stock forend. The light and VFG fit so well on it.
Your shotgun looks real nice
