Need to confirm some info.

I know I read somewhere that it was ok to shoot 00 buck through a shotgun with choke tubes installed.

Is that correct from what everyone else knows.

also what choke tube works better.

Thanks
Peter

yes it is fine to do so, but I would not go any tighter than Modified do to shot deformation. I myself for 00 like Imp Cyl.

I say try and see what works. Nothing is written in stone with a shotgun and the patterns it shoots. I have got very nice tight patterns with a full choke shooting cheap buckshot. I personally believe a Modified choke is the best all around choke though.

No problem at all. In fact, Remington recommends a Full Choke for their 00 buckshot.

When it comes to buckshot, you are the "master" of whats an acceptable pattern. I personally like a Improved Cylinder to Modified choke for buckshot. However, its very dependent from person to person.

I have a 28" Rem 870 Brl with a Modified Remchoke. I shot 4 rounds of Winchester Ranger Low Recoil 00 Buck through it today just to see.

Suprised the hell out of me that it shot right to point of aim at 25-yards and put every single pellet on and 8" bullseye target. Wish i had an 18" Brl that shot cheap buckshot so well.
