What is the general consensus on which side to mount one?

Left side to load with the off hand, or right side to reach under with offhand? I suppose it boils down to what you've trained with and are comfortable doing, but not having taken a SG course I was wondering what people here feel comfortable with.

Over.

A side saddle only mounts on the port (left) side of the gun, if your speaking of the Winchester/Remington/Mossberg, which I assume you are.

Doesn't Mesa Tactical make ones for right side mounting as well?

ETA: found it here.

Mesa does make the Right side mount as well they are limited to two or four shot models on the Reciever mount. And if you have the Mesa adapter they also have two and four shot in that model.
We have sold a few over the past year and not received really any opinions either way. I do know an officer who teaches shotgun here locallay does use both a right and left side mount on his shotgun.
I would like to hear some opinions on this as well as it would aid us as well when recomending setups.

I though the Mesa design required the left side for the right side to work?

Anyway, you want your shells on the left side regardless. Makes the trip from the saddle to the loading port that much faster.
