I shoot a 391 for sporting clays and was wondering-

If choke X, lets say a LM, shoots a pattern of 30" at 40yds using 7 1/2, will the pattern increase or decrease in size shooting an 8 at the same range with the same choke? Or does the pattern size stay the same, but is just more dense?

Both are 1 1/8oz.

The pattern should be close in size and density but with just fewer holes. S.C. shooters sometime change shot size instead of chokes for longer shots because the larger shot will travel further. MIKE.
