Why is it that sometimes I can load eight 2 3/4 inch shells in the tube and other times I can only load seven? When I go to load the 8th shell it just misses it.

Is there a size difference with the shells? Last time I got Federal and this time I got Remington. What am I missing here?

Almost forgot it has the 20 inch barrel and full length mag tube.

Differences in shells.

Remember, when a shell is listed as 2 3/4" inch, that's 2 3/4" AFTER it's fired.

Different shells and different brands are crimped differently and vary in length.

I take it that this is a normal thing with my gun?

Totally normal.  The difference is the ammo.  Most US manf star crimp their hulls while foreign manf tend to roll crimp their hulls.  The roll crimp shells are a little longer so you can fit 1 less shell.  Wolf and S&B are roll crimped.

Can I see some pics of roll crimped and star crimped shells? Thanks
