Yes they look sweet. They function well. Now spend a day and put 300 rounds through one.

Don't get me wrong. They are a great shotgun, a lot of fun.
There is a reason that the military called all those Mossbergs and Remmigtions back into service.

They work every time.

M1014,  How did you make that collapse?  Or is it an LE model that did already?

ViperEH, how's your new M1014 doing? You need to post some photos of yours, as I'd really like to see the tactical light set-up.

M4M, FINALLY made it to the range today.  I'm doing good to shoot once every 4 months anymore.  And I forgot the case that had my PSS and my M1014.    I was PISSED.  And I was at JP which is about 2.5 hours from home, so no running back to get it.  I actually need a light to mount on there, but its a solid looking mount.  I think its designed around the M3 series.  Probably work with a sure fire though.  Going to have to reach for it though since its just in front of the handguards.  I saw that thread on the benelli forum.  I'm going to go that route I think.  Very sweet.  GRRRRRR  Had fun but it was just one of those days.

I did nail those 4" posts they use to hold the wire for targets from 100 yards with my glock36 3 times out of 7 rounds.  That was something to be proud of.

I should have made myself a bit more clear in my post.

My entire experience with them is with 3" magnums. And after about 50 rounds they were knocking the snot out of me.

I have never had one fail to function properly. I find the recoil rather stout in comparison to other shotguns.

My apologies for not making myself clear.

Was this a public range or private range? I work out of several ranges and nothing pisses me off more than people shooting at equipment that wasn't intended to be shot. This kinda thing destroys equipment and can be very dangerous. Please only shoot at targets. Destroying other peoples stuff for fun is nothing to be proud of.

Its the public range at Jasper Pulaski.  I don't make a habit of it.  Those things have been plowed so many times by .30 cal rifles they already look like somebody went at them with an axe.  .45ACP out of a 3.76" barrel is going walking speed at 100 yards.  (not really, but its no 30-06)  Thats not a very good excuse, but that was how I evaluated it.  I woulnd't have done it at anything shorter than that, trust me.  (it was a 1 mag lets see if we can do it thing)

ETA  a view of the 100 yard range.  If that helps you picture the situation.  (I was waiting to see if anyone would jump me for that)

TexasTactical,  On further thought I'll elaborate slightly.  I was fairly certain it wasn't going to do anything more than superficial damage.  If any.  I appreciate your thoughts and opinion on the subject.  (I'd love to attend any of the stuff you guys put on)  I'd be pissed if anyone was abusing the posts intentionally.  However I didn't think this would count as abuse due to the extreme range.  Perhaps I was incorrect.  (I was flinging bullets at it)  I didn't go down to look just for the pistol rounds.  I'd never do it with a rifle, or pistol at closer range.  I certainly believe in being a good steward of public shooting facilities.  Maybe I was wrong.  (I don't think I was but thats debatable, I probably wouldnt' do it again)  Either way, thanks for pointing it out.
