What’s the difference between the benelli m1 and the benelli m4 I can’t seem to find the difference on their web sight?

looks like the M4 is gas operated, from their web site:

Benelli engineers developed and patented a unique auto regulating gas operated (ARGO) system. Dual stainless steel self-cleaning pistons located just ahead of the chamber operate directly against the proven rotating bolt and eliminate the need for complex linkages found on other gas autos. The result—Marine-tough reliability under the harshest environmental conditions.

The M1 is inertia operated.

The M4 actually uses the same armani inertia system just like the M1, with the exception of two stainless gas rods that help the bolt carrier out just in case there is not enough recoil there to cycle the bolt just from intertia when using lighter tactical loads.
