I've been shooting my 1187 in warm weather with zero issues.  I took it up on a duck hunt in 5 degree weather and after two rapid shots with factory Rem 3 1/2's the extractor tore off the bolt and got jammed up between the third loaded round and the top of the receiver with the bolt closed half way.  It took a half hour to get the jam cleared.

By the time I got back to the truck and dumped the gun/ammo and loaded up my 870, the morning shoot was over.

Was this just a fluke or is this something chronic with these supermag's?  The Rem warranty station didn't have anything encouraging to say other than "we test fired it"...hinking.gif

Basically, S**t happens.

Parts break for no decernable ryme or reason.

You may just have gotten one with a hidden flaw.  Replace it and go on about your shooting.
If it breaks again, you may have a problem, in which case, back to the factory.
