Anyone ever tried using a speedloader for a shotgun and if so was it worth it. Also, has anyone ever tried to make a shotgun speedloader?

Yes I have used them, and installed them on both of my 870s.

These have been considered open class competition only kit for sometime, but I have to say they make a lot of sense especially if a shotgun is your primary weapon.  You can load 4 shells in the time it would normally take to load one.  They take some practice to use, but once you get the hang of it they kick ass.

There is really only one game in town: Armstech.  They have a patent on these devices and no one else has copied them. Tek-loaders are available through Brownell's with the mounting bracket and nylon case for like $40 or so.

Do a search for shotgun items and they'll come up.

Am I mistaken, or did USA (the mag company), make shotgun speed loaders a few years back?

SR,

How would you compare the process of loading with the Tec Loader to loading a mag in an AR, as far as speed and fine motor skills?

Also, how many 3" shells will the Tec Loader hold?

 Thanks,
 Dan

MAINEiac,

Here is a video from the rifle/shotgun match today.  In this course of fire I use a tekloader on my SST-870 so it will give you an idea of how much faster it is.  I'm new to using these things so I am much slower compared to the guys that have been doing it forver...

It does require more manual dexterity and practice than doing an AR mag change.

I believe a Tekloader will hold three 3" shells.
